Winter League IV 2008
Hey everyone,
Well done to everyone who played MWL today. We have had a great day of lots of ultimate in the sunshine and with no wind!!!
Makes such a nice change to the normal cold and wet winter league.
Our first match was against Stourbridge which ended something like 12-6. They were a highly drilled GB junior squad with a
GB woman and master thrown in. I think our lack of practice and their unrelenting pace lost us this game. Our second game
was against Fling1 which ended 10-8. This was an incredibly close match against a full Fling first team which we should be
proud of. We came together as a team with cuts flowing off oneanother and exceptional handling from Lauren and Greg. Third
game was against Red 2, 11-10 to us. In this it was typical Jesters where we played down to a poorer teams level. Having
said that they had good disc skills and pace and we beat them in the cap. This game inolved lots of huge hucks, a point D
by Benson and great handling homeboy by Joe and Greg. The last game against airwolf ended 15-3 to us. We just took this one
away with better ultimate played than the opposition throughtout.
We were meant to have a 5th game against Red 2 again but they forfitted due to injury (but cramp is not an injury in my
opinion - man up!) So we finished 13th, not bad! Im really proud at the level of enthusiam and commitment shown by all
members despite being so tired it was hard to walk back to the line!
