Burla Beach Cup 2007
And once again Burla didn’t’ fail to meet my expectations! What a brilliant tournament it was…but let’s start from the beginning.
For some of us the drinking and partying started pretty early in the week and a lot of ‘ring of fire’ action was seen. I remember getting a text from Steph on Wednesday night saying ‘where are you, we are playing drinking games and holding heads’..oh dear…
On THURSDAY the last few people arrived in Viareggio, including me, Samantha, Alex, Steve and Henry and all the Jesters are finally reunited! After a swim in the pool and some faffing some of us head to the camping restaurant whereas others back to the chalets for some fajitas… The highlight of the dinner must have been Edd’s massive double-layered pizza that took him at least one hour to finish! If only Henry had been there… After the meal, Steve manages to break a glass- and after some abusing we all head to the chalet headquarter for some more drinking games.
More wine, sambuca, beer were consumed causing some of the first victims of the week.. Both me and Alex were passed out in bed before 11pm although none of us actually made it to our won bed! Alex almost made it.. he passed out on the sofa right outside the bedroom! Opening the door must have been too much effort. Whereas I spent the night in kristen’s bed (giggidi).
In the meantime, the legend that is Tom decided what a great idea would have been to go to camping Paradiso, climb over the wall, chuck a bottle of wine over it and hit a car… rumours went round that he almost got arrested, spent the night in a cell, got raped and who knows what else. Not happy with his achievement, Tom lost in camping Paradiso managed to get a lift back with some random and woke up safely in his bed the day after… why couldn’t he behave like a normal drunk and just pass out?!
FRIDAY
First matches and first time to the beach for some of us! Great day, great atmosphere, some good Frisbee was played and a nice relaxing time was had... I won’t go into the game details because I can’t remember so I’ll just skip the day and go straight to Friday evening...
Because of the seriously hangover state that some of us were still experiencing from the night before not everyone decided to have another drinking session except from Trev and Steph! The party was at camping Paradiso and we all head over for some dancing and socialising.
The night goes on and its quite uneventful. Pretty much everyone decide to have an early night except from Trev and his cartons of wine and steph and her bloody shots! We ended up by having to climb over the campsite wall in order to get back, with the help of some nice boys from mohoks (yes I don’t know how to spell that..)
SATURDAY
First game of the day and it’s such a great feeling not being hungover! However there are some bad news.. Joe is in bed with food poisoning and vomming all over the place. Jesters 1 are now down to 7 players because of Jasper getting injured the first game of the Friday (chump). So with the help of some nice pickups we carry on playing and def kick ass! Especially that victory against that team that I can’t remember the name but it was an awesome game.
oh and there was a bit of drama when steve had to be taken to the hospital with a suspected broken neck (chump)...that ended up by being not so broken in the end!! yey!
So, more chilling down the beach and with the end of the last game we all head back to get ready for the PARTY! The theme is beach lighting and there is a lot of anticipation especially regarding ‘The Tranny’s costume…
So, after more faffing we all get ready and head to the party! Trev dressed as a pink lady impresses everyone and he even gets hit on at the bar! I don’t remember much of what happened so here someone should really fill in the details. What I remember is a lot of apple throwing and hitting people’s heads,-or steph’s face more exactly- lots of dancing and drinking and general messing!
Whoooo!! Sunday was brilliant too, but a bit sad as it was the last day ;(
Ok I’m done with the report. Its not great but I tried to write the things I could remember! Now someone else should fill in the gaps...
